Hootie & The Blowfish Monday After The Masters Re-signs for The Dye Club!


North Myrtle Beach, SC- The 14th Annual Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament has been scheduled for April 14th, 2008. It will be held at The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The contract for 2008 was signed on Wednesday, Oct. 24th between Empire Sports Management and The Dye Club. This year, members of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce staff and Boards of Directors were present for the signing. Linley Dew, Chairman of the Chamber Board stated, ?This is a world class event in North Myrtle Beach as well as South Carolina?s biggest one-day charity fund raiser. Hosted for the sixth year by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday and Barefoot Resort, the Monday After the Masters is widely considered one of the most popular celebrity pro-am tournaments in the country. This event attracts thousands of people who enjoy the music of the two-time Grammy award winners as well as the friendly competition between the band and their celebrity and PGA professional friends. Over the past 12 years, the tournament has donated more than $3 million to the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation and The Hootie & The Blowfish Foundation, which supports the educational and junior golf needs of South Carolina. Hootie and the Blowfish second consecutive sellout Monday After The Masters was a huge success! PGA professional Ricky Barnes and Green Bay Packer wide receiver Sterling Sharpe survived a one-hole chip off to lead their six-person team to the 2007 Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament title. Barnes and Sharpe's team defeated LPGA professional Erica Blasberg and Hootie & the Blowfish band member Dean Felber in a chip off on the 3rd hole green after both teams finished 17-under-par after 18 holes.

Golfweek magazine released their list of "America's Best Top 100 Resort Courses" for 2006 and two of Barefoot Resort & Golf's courses were named. The Barefoot Love Course was ranked #63 and the Barefoot Fazio Course was ranked #73. No other Grand Strand courses were named to this list.

Barefoot Resort & Golf is thrilled to announce that its golf courses have been placed in Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.
